I think the point is that communism is an economic and social system with particular features like no class or social hierarchy among many other things.
What you have described can be the feature of any authoritarian state, and while most communist run countries were authoritarian like that you'll find similar restrictions were put in place under the Nazis and probably a bunch of other regimes that are/were not communist.

Yeah i reckon. A lot of people i know who haven't really got hobbies aren't that phased because even though they spew a bit that they can't go out for dinner, because that's all they really do, they can get it through uber eats so they don't really mind.

People usually have hobbies after work and on weekends. either way, working or not, I think people with hobbies that they aren't allowed to do are the one's that are feeling it hence all the talk on here about it.
I bet the people on the coffee forum wouldn't be talking about it as much.
It all comes down to what you do for that stress release and if you can do it or not.

Because, and this is of course just my opinion, if you think that Dan Andrews is a communist or socialist you have zero ideas about the nature of those ideologies. But feel free to prove me wrong if you can.... but this time provide some some solid evidence.

Well, having been born in a Communist country I reckon I have a pretty good idea on what Communism is. And once again your obsession with 'evidence' whenever you disagree with someone else's point of view . What would you like, a birth certificate?
If you are happy to show a birth certificate then do it.
So if you are an expert on communism, then very clearly explain the commonly accepted principles upon which the philosophies of communism and socialism are based and how Andrew has adopted them. Stumpjumper you have been ducking and weaving these questions for the last two weeks. Labeling someone as a 'whatever' is no proof and requires that thing you avoid .... producing evidence. I would hope that your opinion is based on facts and a few of us have been asking you to support your opinions with evidence but you keep avoiding the issue. So answer that and also give us your manifesto describing you would have managed this crisis to keep the community safe and save lives. I'm no particular fan of any political party, government or leader. But to simply through eggs and portray someone as bad when he is doing what he was elected to do .... lead strongly, is pretty weak. If you want people to accept your claims it's time to put up or shut up comrade

I think he's talking more about the dystopian authority displayed by pretty much every Marxist ideological party to assume power in order to maintain power likely from childhood experiences within the eastern bloc likely under Brezhnev. That and the almost controlled propaganda (30 something thousand lives saved this month garbage) and the seemingly Potemkin village feel to the state. Rather than the actual socialist ideals that created the numerous uprisings...
