Big W sell some really cheap braid. It's called Stren or something. 6lb line is super thin and is only like $12. I've used it and it does the job just fine!

I have two starlo stix ... a 902 shoreline and a 10' 6' surf, I'm very happy with them..
I also use 2 or 3 coats of rod varnish on the cork grips before using them, stops nicks in the cork and they last 10 times longer..
