New toy

Post by fisho999 » Mon Jan 16, 2023 2:12 pm

Hey all,
Got a new bait cast rod and reel recently, the Alvey bc80.
7 foot rod 5 - 10 kilo rating, the reel has 8 kilos of drag. I spooled it with 40 pound braid, the reel comes with 2 spools so you can swap different kilo lines out quickly.

I’m having trouble uploading the picture on my phone, what is a good site to get the bb code?

For cod?

I use Lit Photo app on my phone to reduce the file size to 700kb and upload photos without issues.

If you’re using your phone, use an app called resize it.
I do it all the time and it works well 😊
Cheers 👍🏻

yep, for cod. the 40 pound is mostly for getting lures out of snags.

I even use 50lb haha, same reason. Don't want to lose those $25+ cod lures.

I found a problem though, the lines is so strong it just turns the reel even on max drag😂

Yes, haven’t caught any thing though. I’m meeting up with one of my friends this weekend for a fishing/ camping trip so hopefully I get a nice cod or yella
