After a couple weeks getting screwed around by freight companies this has arrived off Facebook marketplace.

First hold of it has it easily as my new fave. I threw a vanford on it to feel it but reckon it’s gonna need something nicer with more balls.

Beast of a rod and ultra light for its rating. I think it’s about 100gm

It's $399 at Motackle and Anglerswarehouse. I got it from Japan for $250.

How much did you pay for them if I may know?

I just got a new rod myself.
It's $399 at Motackle and Anglerswarehouse. I got it from Japan for $250.

Vanford off the shelf at southern sportfishing 6 months ago for somewhere south of $300.

The rod was advertised for $300 from memory. It’s $550 new. But by the time freight was organised from cairns or wherever it was $350.

Well worth the money. How’s the Megabass go?

If I keep the vanford on it I’d definitely change the braid from 12 to 16lb or 20lb.

Prefer pe1-1.2 for the leaders needed for jewbs.

But honestly I’ll probably just throw one of the old Luvias 2510’s on it. Does the job.

$350 is still a pretty good deal for the rod.
Yeah PE 1-1.2 be perfect. The old luvias was one of the best back in the day, if not still one of the best, a lot of people are still looking for it, a bit heavy compared to vanford though.

Haven't tried the Megabass Levante rod, being still in lockdown and stuff, but so far it feels amazing. Gonna write something up about it.

The marginal weight increase would probably be beneficial when dangling a 3/8th 5/0 jighead and a 5” paddle tail though.
