Not as extravagant as Dougie. So I picked up something cheap with my 2 anaconda vouchers Cpl of reddie lures and another cod raider rod.

Brett, did you get 12 kg rod because of its ability to cast heavy lures? Or to handle big cod?
Thinking to upgrade my 12 kg Catana rod and maybe getting a 10 kg or 9 kg rod, or even 8 kg.
Wondering what you and others use and why.

Nope, it's just what the cod raider comes in. I've already got 2 others and they both perform ok.

well i just hacked it to a hero 5 black from the crippled state so i can do fancy slow motion aswell

Went to my local outdoors retailer today to grab some stuff for yakking + camping. Grabbed one of those UV resistant breathable face shield thingos for sunny days out kayaking and hiking, still trying to figure out how to wear it without looking like a complete twit lol. Also grabbed a new pair of hiking books, gonna see some use while bush bashing looking for trout streams I hope. Bought them for the little ~40km buller hike i've got coming next week, they need some breaking in. Thankfully they're not leather, won't take nearly as long. Also comes with a waterproofing and repair kit which is nice, hoping they last a while through all my fishing/camping escapades. Hopefully the UV shield will keep my face warm and dry in case we get any snow or rain up there (pretty likely)

Gotta get myself a red or a decent pinkie! I need a red cure.

I really do hope you get that red cure soon mate!
