Nice steering wheel.
Yeah it’s a little fancier than the old one. Love the style.

Bought a few lollies for the boat. This is what’s come so far.

Have you kept a tally of the cost of this mega-refurb or are you too scared to know what you spent?

Yeah I’ve kept a bit of a tally. I’ll totalise it all at the end properly. I’ll throw all the costs up at the end of the project.

As it stands now I’m about $8k out of pocket but that’s including the selling of my old outboard for $3.5k.

I’ve bought a 115hp long shaft optimax which is sitting in a mates factory. But I’ve also bought a 115hp X long shaft optimax Cos I’m a peanut who decided to pay for a long shaft before confirming what it was....Haven’t paid for it yet but that’ll come after lockdown and I’ll sell the long shaft unit.

I’m expecting to have it all said and done for $15k or less including full fitout with all the fruit. Anchor winch. Sounder etc still to come.

Considering I had glass quotes ranging from $10-13k for far less work than I’ve done myself I’m happy.

It’s amazing how quickly the money racks up in the last 2 years I replaced my canopies, had sea deck fitted and replaced my anchor winch approx $9000 all up. Plus all the minor spends but who is counting

Yeah exactly. It’s not a cheap hobby but it’s a good one. Relatively safe and puts food on the table.

Some cracker purchases there guys.. for the ones with the $$ to spend it's probably the only relief fishing wise that can be achieved atm I suppose..

Ducky I see a face plate missing :-D , and I've always been a fan of the 3 spokes. Couldn't have it in my cars as it was illegal. Next best thing was get it on the boat.

Following up that epic boat gear purchase post with this little tackle box that came in from Aliexpress.

Part of trying to streamline my tackle storage and availability to fit into a waist bag I got that changed how I put together tackle for a session. Using it to sort and store jig heads and terminal tackle so I can just grab it and the relevant lure box and head out.

Started sorting jig heads and lure clips so far, will add swivels, hooks and whatever else I have space for

Yeah I'm pretty happy with it so far for $14 - it's small, waterproof and relatively customizable most of what I was looking for. Intent is to have it with me whether I'm out land or kayak based, fresh or salt. Not planning on losing much gear so hopefully won't be pulling it out much haha.

Having all the jig heads already feels like (is) a bit of unnecessary weight to carry - but previously I had them taking up a slot in a tackle box (now given back to lures). How they were organized regarding weight/hook size was just a mess, so this should be a bit more fluent finding the right size to re-rig.
