Oh, it works out to be $2 a "snatcher type rig", in-lieu of what ever they go for in the Tackle Stores.

Tying rigs is a good way to relax when it’s too windy to get out for a fish. I had the intent of making quality snatcher style rigs with high quality components to sell, but once I did the math I worked out I would make bugger all profit for the time I would need to spend. So I tie them for myself and mates, they last 4 or 5 sessions and give me a sense of achievement when I land fish on them. They work out to be about $4 each

Wow Tim, they look really really great.

The Hairy Hooks (with fibre twined on) I get are about $9 for 12 , , , , which I then tie into rigs.

But I do make my own snatcher style hooks too. Nothing as great as yours. I couldn't find the right stuff, and that crinkled fibre you get looks awesome.

What I use is just cheap Kids play wigs and tinsel. I snell the fibres to the Hook in one go with the leader line when tying the hook, for (what I think) a stronger hook tie.

No doubt they do work better than plain hooks. Tried on one trip, one rod with my homemade "Shmuck Snatcher" hooked rigs and three rods with normal hooked rigs. That one rod caught 80% of the total Snapper caught, out doing the other three rods combined by 4 times better.
