For sure. Being waterproof and having the water proof plug is a massive advantage for kayaks. I've had several sets of spade connectors I was attaching to deep cycle batteries rust out in the past. I've had my 17.5ah FPV for a few years now and have run into zero issues with it, I've been on a few long trips and haven't had it run out either despite not making any effort to reduce the screen brightness. I've ordered a BerleyPro visor for the new sounder so hopefully I'll squeeze even more out of the battery.Seb85 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 8:07 pmNice buy.happyfriggincamper wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 6:54 pmCoupla kayak bits that have come in the mail over the last week and a bit. I reckon FPV will eventually take over traditional deep cycle battery.
It's lighter, comes with charger, in comparison to heavy bulky old style battery and still need to buy charger.
The only real limitation of them is for the peanuts who want to slap a motor on their kayak and are up for a $800 battery if they go the Li ion route.
