Squid Session. Snapper season approaching!

Post by STriplett1997 » Mon Jul 29, 2019 7:12 pm

Haven't posted on here in a little while.. Not much fishing for me over the last 2 months, but thats about to change :-D

Didn't get around to posting this report, but here are a few pics from my last Squid session on Tyabb Bank! Admittedly 2 Months back now. An absolute awesome session going after some bigger models.
Drifting lines with the run in tide of depths of 8m-4.5m, really focusing on working the jigs close to the bottom along the depth edge. The Shimano Sephia 14T Legend lure living up to its name as per usual, its red head buddy too with some absolute line burners. Biggest hood measured 45cm, with another over 40 and a few close to the mark. Not something ive done a lot of in the past besides bait collecting, but its simply too much fun not to put the time into!

So... who else is pumped for snapper season?? Preps all done and ready to go, will start hunting in the next couple of weeks!

Cheers guys

Top squid session mate!
Where have you been? Starting the hunt for your first red in a couple of weeks?
I’m thinking of starting early this season too :)
