Going down to Marengo next week. Is it worth trying to get some salmon of the Marengo beach, how big do they get off that beach? Is there any other species you can catch off that beach.

I like it as a salmon spot but there hasn't been much action down there that I've seen.

There were a bunch of guys on the rocks the other day catching an assortment of **** fish and snags in between losing rigs.

The good thing about that general area is there's places to fish without the wind in your face in pretty much anything other than an easterly.

If you fish the low tide at Marengo, you will be able to cast in the big deep hole. You can only reach it at low tide and you can see it from the beach. That hole always holds salmon

Where's the hole you speak of could only see a hole near the road bridge not near the reef on Google earth

It was to the left of the reef, don't think google earth will show you, have a look at low tide and when it's clear. Mounts bay
