Apolo bay 8/3 and 9/3

Post by shazdoggg » Wed Mar 09, 2022 8:05 pm

Fished Apollo bay harbour with 2 float rods and for a couple of hours each side of the high tide in the afternoon yesterday and today.

Used peeled prawn on small long shank hooks and a breadcrumb berley(with tuna oil and tinned tuna).

Caught 2 trevally yesterday at 22cm and 28cm, few small sweep and a parrotfish.

Today caught a small sweep, small wrasse and a nice mullet which will hopefully be converted into a gummy on Friday when I get my boat back from the detailer.

2 fishos next to me caught several >30cm zebra fish, 1 >30cm leatherjacket and few decent mullet. They were also fishing with prawn under a float.

Cheers Shaz

Nice.
I'm heading towards that area on the coming long weekend. But probably around warnambool deket though, See if the float rig will work there too.
How long is your line between the hook and the float?

Baits were approx 3-4m under a running float. Usually start deeper and then shorten it up as more berley has hit the water.
