Princetown

Post by Nude up » Thu Nov 26, 2020 7:31 pm

I worked my last day last Friday after 33 years 7 months 7 days with qantas I took voluntary redundancy and to celebrate I went camping. We go every year for 6 days staying at the princetown recreation reserve they allow camp fires. About 16 guys from work rolled up some for the whole time for a couple of days.
We did a bit of four wheel driving fishing and general sight seeing interspaced with beer and red wine. We had a session at the princetown beach its not the best beach in the world but you can still catch a few salmon..

One day I went to the port Campbell pier by myself the guys came later for lunch in the pub. There had been a few squid caught I had been told luckily the only small rod I had brought had a squid jig still attached I flogged the water white for about an hour for nothing then I felt something hit my lure 2 seconds later it was on peeling line off I had to tighten the drag. I was on the upper part of the pier of course no net no gaff my only option was to work my way towards the lower landing a young lad handed my rod down to me i leant over and grabbed it by the neck what a ripper tasted great on the barbie later

That's a stunning bit of the world. Congrats on the retirement.

I got a crazy spot just there if you have a rope and want to feel alive ;)

Good on mate, on the getaway and more important retirement! More camping trips coming your way I'm guessing.

Sounds like a fun trip, with 16 blokes going.
Enjoy your retirement, but, if you get bored, there's a B24 liberator you can play with in Werribee. May be a tad before your time but, a planes a plane, aren't they ??
Cheers Gra
