Snapper and Gummy

Post by Ryguy » Wed Oct 19, 2022 5:10 pm

Wow, it's been ages. Thanks covid, Rain and what seems to feel like non stop easterly winds. Was finally able to get out front of barwon heads today with my two young fellas and as usual it didn't disappoint. 40m straight out from the bluff we didn't have a great deal of action for about a hour but started burley heavy top and bottom and the sabiki rigs started going off non stop with couta.... not monsters but in bulk..we ended up with around 25 in just over 5min. I decided to move in to about 26m with fresh bait and bam good gummy in first 10min followed by a couple heavy heavy runs ( ray, 7 gill or bronze whaler id imagin) but then with burley established a few good snapper, one went at 8.5kg. We also had heaps of mackerel come threw another great bait caught on those 1$ ebay sabiki rigs, some 4 at a time.
