Weather was great with a light SSE. Got there about 2.30pm on an incoming tide. I've fished here a few times, but hardly catch anything. Last time I was on the pier, I got onto my very first squid only to lose it to the resident seal. Fortunately, the seal was nowhere to be seen. Anyway, tried my luck with a 3 inch jig and got a nice calamari on the second cast. This one I managed to bag and it felt great as it was my first landed squid. Also got a decent sambo on a popper, but that was it for the arvo. No one else was doing much better. An old couple near me were catching a few small sand whiting and leatherjackets on chicken.
Even though it was reasonably quite, had a great afternoon. May try again next week.
