G'day all! I'll be down in Lorne this weekend for the first time in a very long time to visit some friends (non fishers boooooo) but I'll be bringing my rods and keen for a fish. I've read through the previous Lorne related threads and it seems like the pier and nearby Erskine river seem to be the go?
Any further tips on setup/bait/metals/SPs?
Any advice would be great, thanks in advance also, if anyone is keen to join me then PM me
Cheers, Paul

Re: Lorne This Weekend
You've picked a great weekend. Saturday afternoon looks like exceptional conditions to spin salmon off the rocks. Cast a 25-50g metal slug that's some colour of shiny and reel it in fast.
Don't know about baits.

Paternoster, with 1/0 with chicken or pilchard on a surf outfit will do the job. I say surf because if your bait fishing generally you'd need a Size 4 Triangle to hold bottom on the platforms I fish. Popper can be productive as well. For me in the past month Sand/Rocks has definitely out-fished the pier.
Good Luck

Hey that's great advice guys thanks very much! I think I'll hit up the beach and rocks for sambos and see how it turns out Id say the pier would be reasonably busy on a beautiful Saturday also so I'll try steer clear.
Thanks again guys!
