mmmm mayby bass would prey on red fin? also we have bass but not in vic i dont think.

It's not a spot I'm willing to give away on a forum. I'd say there's probably 1 or 2 lurking around the ponds and lakes of urban parks etc.

Kill them all imo, native fish pull just as hard and there's bound to be something native that tastes as good as trout or redfin.

Yeah for sure. But some suburban lakes there’s really no viable native angling target. Especially man made lakes.
Trout just sell lures, grow fast and taste alright.
That’s a hard battle to fight.
There is always more to learn , fish to catch , places to see and friends to make.
