St Leonards Pier - Calamari 10/12/2022

Hey everyone,
Sharing a quick report of a quick EGI session at St Leonards Pier Saturday, 10/12/2022.
Conditions were perfect:
Light winds from the S, clear water with a slight sediment, clear skies full sun, run in tide.
The squid were pretty active, saw maybe 20 or so caught between quite a few people - but the surprising this was that 99% of the squid caught were on the start of wooden section. This happened last year and like last year, all the squid were smaller and taken on the sandy bottom.
I was flicking the new 2022 Yamashita EGI-OH K Neon Bright colours in the #2.5 profile.
Caught a total of 8 in two hours, releasing one tiny hood.
Keen to chase plenty more of these over summer as after 1 year of travelling for work, I'll be heading back full time on the Bellarine.
If anyone wants to have a flick chasing some squid over summer, give me a yell - always down to egi haha!
Cheers,
Andrew
