Slow day

Post by Nude up » Sat Apr 23, 2022 8:35 pm

Went out with my neighbour today looking for whiting and squid . The water clarity was not the best we tried for whiting in our usual spot near Port but we we're getting smashed by Tommy roughs. We mover further towards Clifton Springs but a couple of skinny small ones we let go.
We moved again to just past the Clifton Springs boat ramp were we got a few decent ones best 38cm but it was slow I managed 3 squid from a weed bed within casting range.
By about 2 we headed back to Port and drifted the weed beds near the ramp we picked up a few more squid.
A very slow day even the squid were tentative in biting. We ended up with 6 whiting 1 flathead and 12 squid of which 3 were small and are earmarked for a trip to see a gummy shark on Tuesday.
A slow day but still a great day on the water

Glad you were able to still get a good feed and even more so that I'm not the only one finding the squid picky haha. Awesome done!

Still a good day by the look of it. Hopefully, the gummies will smash those squid
