Went out this morning around 9am with my neighbour.launched at Point richards having plenty of squid, whiting and flathead we decided to try for gummies.
We headed over to the old channel and anchored up and got some berley going. We knew it would be slow and we would have to fish through a lot of rubbish but big baits hopefully would deter the pickers. After about 4 banjo's we had a good run but were bitten off then a monster smooth stingray which was good fun but not what we were after.
At last on a squid head a reasonable gummie 63 cm for the measured length. After the tide turned it went really quite so we gave it away around 230

It’s great when a plan comes together and you get the target species!
Nice gummy mate
