I had a couple of mates come down for a fish they wanted to target squid. We launched at portarlington around 10 am in the fog 1 guy ran very late getting here.
I decided to head towards Clifton Springs I have done ok there. We headed off in the thick fog following my previous tracks. After arriving at my usual spot we couldn't see any other boats a quick lesson to 1 mate on using the jigs We drifted along it was extremely calm and eerie in the fog I noticed we were drifting from 3.5 to 6 Mt plus moving away from shore after 2 hours and multiple drifts we had 26 squid on board.
Then the fog lifted and the sun came out and the squid stopped dead.
We headed back to Port and drifted in around 9mt for flathead and managed 6 over 30cm the best 44cm plus a few slimey rock cod.
My mates were happy with a day on the water and a bag of fish to take home after a feed at the golf club

Close in just as it drops off to 9 Mt between the harbour and the point Richards road boat ramp

What a morning to be on the water, and what a feed! Done well!
