Donuts at St Leonard’s / Portarlington 18.07.20

Post by scanny » Sat Jul 18, 2020 10:27 pm

Started out chasing squid at St Leonard. No action so I moved around to Portarlington hoping the break wall might protect against the northerly. A few hits but nothing landed, pretty ordinary night to be out.

Lots of activity at Portarlington though. KGW going off at the end of the jetty/start of the breakwall. Unfortunately they weren’t the slightest interested in the limited selection of plastics I had with me!

KGW ~~ pipi / prawn / squid / bass yabbie / I would not waist my time with plastics when chasing whiting if you want a reasonable bag. You may get the odd one on plastics but consistency will be lacking.

Looks like St Leonards is still quiet on the squid, nice hearing about the KGW.
They are a sucker for a squid lollypop.

I said "You may get the odd one on plastics but consistency will be lacking." did you get your bag limit on plastics ?
I have caught my bag limit off St Leonard's pier but on bait at night.
