A light westerly and high tide at 4.30am meant near perfect conditions for KGW and saw 40 fish ranging from 34-40cm landed between the two of us. Farting around with and trying to learn the new Simrad meant I missed the intended mark by about 100m but it certainly paid off as we didn't need to move once to reach our limit. The only by-catch for the morning consisted of a Port Jackson, a Draughtsboard, a Snook and a Gurnard, not one single Puffer or Banjo. The best bait was squid and the bite slowed down once it became light. The new Suzuki's passed the 3 hr break in stage now so I was able to give it a bit more of a squirt and we ran down to Queenscliff for a reconnoiter then over towards the Quarantine Station at Portsea and then back again, using a total of 18l of petrol for the day which I reckon is great for a 90hp.

Nice catch mate, what area were you fishing? I am thinking to drag the boat down to Clifton Springs and target some tings, I have not had much success there, but it seems everyone else does so I guess it is only a matter of time before I get lucky....

St Leonards is the choice whiting spot but there will be a lot of boats out.

I'm going out at Clifton Springs today chasing a few squid, they're pretty vicious atm.

Mr T, great morning's effort on the Ting , , , , actually better than great , , , , awesome. And three beers is a good rate at filleting , , , , the fourth would have compromised the "integrity" and "quality" of the fillets. And, those look great.

Hope you get onto the Squidlies today, nothing like an array of fried delights to make a Fisherman's Basket for dinner , , , ,

Great work yet again, I see you use the same berley pot rope holder as me. You must use a lot of salt if you buy it in 20 lt buckets.
