Your confusing the poor guy Andrew, Jack mackerel arent slimies they are cowanyoung. They look similar to yakkas but are darker blue/green through the shoulders and have a larger eye. Slimy mackerel look totally different to both these fish
haha! Man this is getting confusing and I can understand why, they're only one order away from each other and have confusing multiple names.
You are right, jack mackerel are also called cowanyoung and look similar to yakka, I just assumed that jack mackerel was an alternative name to slimey mackerel, which it isn't.. Slimeys or blue mackerel are the second species picture. Blows my mind how many similar species there are.

Cheers Purple5ive, yeah it's always great getting onto some squid. The think I'm loving most is keeping track of the conditions, etc in an excel doc. Really has helped me pick those good and bad days.
