Geelong landbased this morning...

North wind, low tide, close to full moon. Knew it was gonna be tough. But after stressful week at work etc, I needed to go out.

Went to North Shore first, to fish sheltered area from the wind. 6:30am til 8am, just few small nibbles on the bait rod with "garlic'ed" chicken (1-3kg nibble tip rod, paternoster with #2 baitholder hook, size 00 sinker).

.
Moved to waterfront, few aussie salmon (20-25cm) on plastic, a mate landed a 30cm pinkie on zman grub.
Wind got really strong and started drizzling, knew it was time for a coffee and head home.

At least I "un-stressed" my self for a little bit and should be enough to hang on and work for another week.

Thanks. Yeah definitely feels better now, keeping the sanity. Would go mental otherwise.
Every now and then we all need to recharge.

Thanks.

The sambos took any plastics we threw in. Lunker city 2in paddle tail, 4in sluggo, zman 2.5in grub. I was using 2-4kg rod with 2500 reel and 10lb line, using 1-3kg would've been more fun but I couldn't be bothered to go back to the car to grab the UL outfit.
Nothing big, etc, was just nice to be out with a mate, fishing, coffee. Good rejuvenation before going back to work on Monday.

Always good to get out every once a while, I think we're all about over winter too haha.
Salmon trout always make for good fun.

Definitely relaxing.

Just like they say, worst day fishing is still better than best day working.

Last time i was fishing the waterfront we caught bugger all. Any tips? just flicking 2inch grubs around the yacht club. Me and my mate both saw a big shovelnose and a couple of snapper just cruising around though!

Been hit and miss lately.
Between now and winter, usually there's aussie salmon around.
