North shore flathead on kayak this morning

Post by Sebb » Sat May 22, 2021 5:45 pm

Got on the water 6:30am or so for the first light. 4° morning. Incoming tide.

Straight out from the beach, fished from 4m to 9m and even the channel 12-13m.

Fished til 9am. Flatty flatty and more flatty. But mostly 20-25cm. Biggest was 33cm. One of them spat a baby prawn/lobster.

Had one setup with pilchard and the other flicking plastics. Caught that 33cm on slim swimz midnight oil 1/8 #2 jig head.
