Port today

Post by Trumpeter » Sun Jan 17, 2021 9:22 pm

Launched this arvo from C.Springs for a quick fish with my 2 boys and headed over to Portarlington to the same mark I was at on Wednesday. Weren't many boats out the carpark was half empty. I was hoping for another Gummy but no luck today. We did think we had a good one on for a few minutes with a great screaming run and a good battle but ended up being an Eagle, they can fool you sometimes. Non stop Pinkie action kept the kids amused but most were under 28cm, we did get dinner though keeping 2 about 35 & 40cm, both caught on squid heads. It was a fun afternoon although a little choppy with a moderate souwesterly blowing, once they got bored with fishing we went for a cruise, did some driving lessons and then a quick run home.

Fish for the table, ticked.
Kids are happy, ticked.

Good stuff :tu:

How was the water clarity? Didn't get too dirty after the rain we had?

The water's quite clear, even with the heavy showers we had here on Friday.
