Botton bash.

Went out yesterday from Port Arlington. Launched about 10.30 and returned about 3.00 PM.
Fancied a feed of frog and did ok.
We drifted In about 30 foot of water and managed to get 25 keepers between us.
Reckon we returned at least that many that were undersize.
Baits used were squid and pippy.
Was wondering if the 4 hour return drive was worth it.
When chewing on my frog tails last night for dinner I realised that it was more than worth it.

Nice work - just out of curiosity, why do you reference depth using feet instead of meters?

Being an old fart I still automatically think in feet and inches. These centipede and millipede measurements still seem alien to me.
It's just a question of what you were schooled with as a youngster.

Ha OK - cheers, there's one perspective! I had a sounder once that only has US metrics, so everything was feet and Fahrenheit - bloody frustrating doing the quick conversion on distance in my head and didn't even bother with water temp haha.

A good question. Old habits die hard I suppose. My sounder has always shown the depth in feet and because I am familiar with such, have never bothered changing it to metres.
All the airlines still work in feet for altitude I am reasonably sure.
Go out and buy a tv, all the screen sizes are still measured in inches.
If I am cutting timber etc, I measure in mm, is handy and I feel essential to be familiar with all sorts of measurements, weights etc.
If you catch a fish measure it in mm and weigh it in pounds, fish sounds longer and also seems heavier.
