Well it's certainly been a hot minute since posting on here but I managed a cracking estuary perch today and had to share. I was fishing Patterson river near the mouth with very little luck, as dusk hit I could see something hitting the surface and tied on a little surface lure. A couple of casts in and my lure got smashed, after a screaming initial run and a couple of minutes back and forth I managed to land my personal best estuary perch at 41cm. Unfortunately the fish completely swallowed the lure and was bleeding at the gills by the time it was landed. Shame to kill such a big fish but it won't go to waste. Hope this encourages some people to get out there!
Cheers

Re: Patterson river fishing report
Very nice. There's been some solid fish on the chew lately. I'm envious with the surface hit, I haven't had any real luck aside from a couple of barely legal fish and a couple of Bream off the top for near on 18 months. It's a tough place to crack and worth the effort to move around to find more than a couple of feeding fish, if you can catch it when it does fire it can be absolutely almost fish a cast bonkers
