First cod session of the 2022 - 2023 season

Post by fisho999 » Tue Dec 20, 2022 8:24 am

hey all,
I went bait fishing for cod on Sunday but didn't catch anything. I used tasty cheese on a running sinker rig and a paternoster rig. got lots of bites on the paternoster rig, but no hooks-ups. I suspect it was because I had a circle hook on the paternoster rig and the tip was obstructed by the cheese.

better luck next time, fisho999

Better luck next time. Try again.
When I bait fish for cod with cheese, I use running sinker straight to the hook and 5/0 or 6/0 circle with the sharp point exposed.
