Melton Reservoir

Post by Seniorfisho » Wed Nov 10, 2021 9:29 am

Here is a sample of the fish I have caught from Melton Reservoir in the last 2 weeks. I have fished it 3 times in the last fortnight for a total of 17 Yellowbelly to 45cm, 9 Estuary Perch to 38cm and many Redfin to 47cm. The stocking program has produced one the best fisheries in Melbourne with Cod added to the list also. All fish were caught using worms and soft plastics. Plastics on a 1/5oz ned head jig is the standout as you want the plastics slowly moving along the bottom and then when lure is about 7 or 8 mtrs from the kayak on the retrive you slowly lift the plastic off the ground and tap the butt of your rod as you lift really slowly, it sets the yellas off. Sorry about the pic quality but I have to crop everything
