The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad

i know you are not allowed in NSW, however i cant find any regulations about using them in victoria. They are caught in the same lake, if any one knows if you are able to use them i would be interested to find out.

You can use them for bait but only in water which they were caught but you're also not allowed to transport them alive.. Not sure if keeping them in a live well to be used as bait on a boat driving around on a lake is considered transporting them though

Awesome haul there mate, Rocklands can be a very good fishing location when the fish are biting.
Some trips I've been there and its a fish a cast, and other trips I've only caught a few fish over a few days camping.

My curiosity got the better of me regarding this question so i called the DEPI to clarify the use of redfin as live bait. The reply i got was that as redfin are not on the noxious species list they are able to be used as live bait, however they are only to be used in the same lake in which they were caught, they can be transported by boat to the fishing location as long as its the same lake, however can not be transported to another lake by car. Hope that clears it up

4m in the open, it will help if you have a sounder to find the schools or trawl until you get some and anchor. If you see a white and blue savage your in the right area!

Re: Rocklands trip 2014
No worries cheers for that, if you see a new stacer 449 outlaw snooping around be sure to wave me down. I picked it up 2 months ago and put a HDS 7 lowrance sounder with side scan imaging so if I can't find a school of fish with that I'll send it back to em
