Paynesville Jetties

Post by Pirkz » Tue Sep 20, 2022 3:47 pm

Checked the shrimp traps this morning whilst out walking Jimmy dog and collected enough (30-40) for a short session . So as it was such a nice morning, and the fact that there were no recent reports on the forum to peruse , I thought I'd wet a line. Fished the Fort King jetties for a couple of hours into a stiff breeze.. getting stiffer, using float fished live shrimp . 4 bites for 4 bream - all a reasonable size - 2 biggest probably nudging 40 (the cushion is 46cm across), one of which declined the photo op by escaping the keepnet somehow. All were returned to fight another day.

Nice work mate. Ive never fished a live shrimp for bream.. must be a lot of fun gathering the bait and then the fish.
Cheers
