offshore from Lakes today

Post by ango » Sun Jul 03, 2022 5:46 pm

Hi all,
I had another trip offshore from Lakes today, it was very cold on the water but I layered up. I put the boat in at around 8.00 am and headed out to the 6 mile reef area. It was quiet at first but after about 1 hour the pinkies came on the bite, not big, 30 -35 cm but fun nonetheless. As always I kept what I needed for a feed or two and then came in, not sure how they release from 35m. All in all a good morning out, plenty of albatrosses around, it's entertaining watching them squabble over released fish. If you go out make sure you have an epirb, rocket flares etc. the police are checking, and you should have them anyway from a safety perspective. Not many gurnards about, I only caught two so that was a bonus.
Cheers
Ango.

Good fishing. The smaller ones seem to do ok after release.
Hopefully I will be back fishing next week
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.
