60cm is a good sized Salmon. Our normal benchmark for 62 cm is 2.5kg, but they vary wildly, in that same length bracket, I've had fish that were only 1.95kg, and fish that were 2.7kg, very much depends on how they've been feeding

Carlito, you could be right mate. I use a N.Z. app which I usually find is close to the mark. I've frequently used it on different salmon just to test the accuracy, and more often than not it is in the ball park. I must say this fish was fairly "streamlined", so quite possibly closer to 2.5 kg. I gave it a pat on the bum and told it to stay away from the Maas Banker. Better than killing and weighing. :ft:

I smoke them. They are awesome eating.
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.
