Well be their on the 30th to the 10th I think I’m going to borrow my grandads old kayaks and can then kayak away from the campsite we’ll be staying near the river I think so will probably fish with softplastics and some bait mainly for flattiesWhiskers wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 4:28 pmPlenty of fish (sometimes) up here.
I have to go down to Melbourne just after Xmas for a day or two but shoot me a pm when your here and I'll see what I can arrange for you.
Some of the best advice I can give you, specially over holiday periods, is to fish away from where the crowds are and fish right under your feet.

Re: Mallacoota advice
Can't help where and how but here's a list of possible species
Flathead: Dusky, Tiger, Blue Spot, Sand
Bream: Yellowfin and Blacks
Whiting: King George, School and Yellowfin
Luderick
Sweep
Kingfish
Snapper
Sharks: just about all species
Crayfish
Abs
Tuna: Yellowfin, Bluefin, Stripies
Bonito
Marlin: Striped and Blue
Swords
Weird and tasty stuff from over 200m deep
Bass
Eps
One place I'd love to fish is NZ star banks. Screams fishy on maps, is a 25km run SW from Bastion Point so would want to be confident enough in the forecast to not get stuck in a **** show with wind popping up though

King George, dusky/tiger/blue spot, gummy/school/bronze whaler (do they get makos that high up?), crayfish and abs were tick the boxes got me. Maybe snapper too although I doubt their would be monster ones offshore therecobby wrote: ↑Thu Dec 17, 2020 11:27 pmCan't help where and how but here's a list of possible species

Re: Mallacoota advice
You get Makos well beyond up to Cairns. Also a chance of a Porbeagle given the proximity to the shelf.Kimtown wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 5:08 amKing George, dusky/tiger/blue spot, gummy/school/bronze whaler (do they get makos that high up?), crayfish and abs were tick the boxes got me.
