Target any dark patch of weed witha 3-3.5 Yamashita R08 for squid. Redeploy squid on a heavy rod for a kingfish.

Flathead everywhere on the drop off about half way along, use the tactics I pm'd you yesterday.

There is a lot of good fishing to be had there.

Snelled hook works well. Through the very tip of the hood and very lightly between the eyes should do the job

As heavy as the heaviest rod you own. I fish 80-100lb braid and 150lb leader.

Tie a two hook snelled rig and balloon the squid. Lower it into the water, don't cast it or you'll kill it on impact. If the tide is barreling go on the leeward side.

I have three that I spin ledges with. A PE-3-5 11 footer. A PE 4-8 8 footer, and a PE 10 AFAW.

I've had my dragged locked on an expedition and my 41kg step son pulling as hard as he can on the PE4-8 and it's been fine. I've also deadlifted a 12kg kettlebell with it, FG knot and all.

PSA for fishing Pt Welshpool

100% take sandfly repellent - the bloody things are ravenous, and in plague proportions.
