Best spot is the Central hotel on a Friday or Saturday night Boom Boom.... joints rough as guts.Davco19 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 9:32 pmWill be going there that weekend too, Friday arvo to Monday lunch. Are the flatties biting? Will be land based and using plastics and hard bodies. The Mrs wants to get some crabs.re-tyred wrote: ↑Thu Jun 18, 2020 8:24 pmNext to the rock wall at the entrance is a good spot for salmon. There is a possibility of a bream in the front lake as we are getting lots of dirty water down the rivers at the moment. Still KGW in the lake but be challenging without a boat. Mostly they are around kalimna and Fraser island.
I had a good session there today. Haven't tried the salmon for a while. Too many other options.

Nowa Nowa and Lakes tyers is always worth a go in winter. Should be bream around
There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Re: Lakes Entrance landbased tips
First day produced two undersized trevally and the smallest salmon ever on bait, nothing on plastics and lures. The Mrs. bagged out on the crabs in around 90 minutes.

Day 3
23 mullet on 2" grubz. More crabs and a surprise sea horse in the crab net which was safely returned. All the mullet caught by the boat ramp just as you get onto Bullock Island. Lots of sand crabs from the jetty behind the Seafood Cafe. Had a great time and hope to be back in the warmer months.
