If you're really desperate yes. Involves cleaning up the breaks, strengthening the lower section with epoxy over a wrap of thread, finding a 'donor' rod of a thickness that slides into both new ends snuggly and cutting a 10cm section of it off, epoxy gluing the new donor ferrule into the upper half of the broken rod, thread wrap and epoxy that end at the break site to strengthen that end too. And you have your 2 piece rod again.

Or skip most parts, use the donor ferrule and epoxy it in both ends of original rod, wrap break sites, over the top of the break and epoxy over the whole lot to create a 1 piece rod, which is impractical for the length of rod Dougie uses. And it's time consuming too

The rod probably got a hairline crack in it. Served you well for a few years atleast.
