I had a bad day Friday as well - slowly worked my way out to the 6 mile stopping to drift a few times and all I managed was a few Gurnard and undersize Flathead.

Well two more goes. One at the pines for donuts and today at the six mile for the same. So time to clean up and service the boat and leave it alone till the sea temp rises a bit.

Had a go this morning, went straight out to six mile for 1 pinkie 33cm & 1 jackass morwong 33 cm plus many gurnard perch, then moved to the pines area for 1 flattie 36 cm, pretty quiet but at least I got feed. Used squid and sergeant baker for bait, the gurnards seemed keen on the sergeant baker.
Cheers

Gave the 4 mile a go today. 3x 40-48, 6 under 40 over 30cm and 1 mowie. 8am to 11am. 2 people
Usual thing all in about 1 hr then nothing. Tide was running hard from the NE. Fish where on around high tide.

Fished the 6 mile reef yesterday with new boat owning buddy. First time offshore. Nice day for it. Moved a few times and fished between 32 -40 metres. Quiet by local standards apparently but ended up with 3 swell sharks, a few colourful reef fish ( wrasse ? ) multiple gurnards, 3 keeper pinky snapper and a small ling. Not a big fan of heavy gear to catch smallish fish and skull draggin them up from the depths but still exciting as you never know what the next twitch could bring. Will venture out again when invited and if the weather is kind.

Just back from fishing between 10 and 25 m off The Pines this morning for several baby Flathead and 1 Gurnard - all thrown back. Lovely morning though with a nice drift. The tide was running from West to East and ended up straight off the entrance. Yesterday I fished inside and, apart from a zillion Toadies, managed to fluke a 48 cm Flathead on a whiting rig. Very fresh fish and chips last night!
