My smallest squid jig is 2.0. I'm guessing you'd need something smaller for squid that size?

Thats pretty interesting. They must be hungry lol. I bought a few new jigs should really test them out and ye I'd assume they're bigger since they grow pretty fast

That's a great bait size mate, there's a lot of little ones around at the moment. I've had a few trips where these little buggers are attacking my jig like a mad man!!

Basti,

I catch squid the size of your thumb .. they make great bait for FH, Ting and Snapper. Great thing is its on the same pier i chase the larger fish on. So catch the bait and then lob it out to the bigger fish

You need to use minute jigs though.

Haha yeah I've been stocking up on bait squid over the past couple of weekends with a couple of hours jigging here and there. Now I just need to find the time to put them to use before the parents eat them. No such thing as bait sized in their eyes

Went down to sorentto got 1 lil pinkie and stripped of my bait a lot.
Loads of squid being caught.

Went back down to blairgowrie on sunday night, got 5 pinkies and a banjo then a seal showed up and spoiled the fun.

Again loads of squid being caught

Know what you mean about the squid...we hit the boat moorings looking for gumbo baits...not dissapointed..
