I don’t have any metal lures but I do have soft plastics will they work?
Paddle tail or any bait fish like squidgy flickbait or zman slim swimz. They all work.
Plenty of metal lures you can get for less than $10. Make sure you choose the ones that suit your rod casting weight. Should you choose to get one or two that is. Halco twisty is my favorite.

I only have 1:8 of a ounce jig heads are they heavy enough or should I put a sinker on the line infront of it?

You cast further with heavier jig head that's all.
If no wind and they're close, should be enough

I don't think I've ever caught a fish on the full moon.

Skeptical but I tell you it's the full moon.
I don't have a great success fishing full moon especially clear blue sky with low wind.

What I believe anyway. Based on my personal records.

Unlucky mate, hope it doesn't deter your friends from future fishing trips. It just happens, but try again when the weather starts to warm up. All the best for your next trip

I'm inclined to agree with you. Even the toadies can't be bothered having a sniff on the full moon in my experience.
