Sorrento tinny fishing

Post by Crest 3 » Sun Dec 05, 2021 12:15 pm

Hi folks,
I'm new here. Looking at taking out a 3.5m tinny somewhere close to Sorrento boat ramp in the next couple of weeks (weather depending of course). Would anyone recommend a certain mark or distance from the boat ramp as a starting point? I'm not wanting to boat too far because of the size of the boat. Also, what would be ideal and maximum winds for a boat this size in PPB? Thanks.

I would pick SW wind and less than 25kmh.
Plenty of squid around the weed, flathead on the sand flat. And they're like couple hundred metres out.

Yeah I'd agree with Sebb, only go as far as you feel comfortable.
Should be plenty of squid, flathead and kgw in that 2-3m mark.

Drifting amongst the moorings just out the front of the boat ramp for KGW / squid / flatties.

If ya never fished ppb I'd suggest 10 knot wind or under.
Tell someone where ya going and rough time u should be back.
All safety gear ect
As others said drifting you best bet to start with.
To many boats kayak, helicopter , catch a fish, catch a fish
