Hooked Up E-Magazine EGI Special June 2021

Post by Andrews » Tue Jun 08, 2021 7:28 pm

Hey everyone,

I am sharing Hooked Up's EGI Special 2021 - digital magazine.

This special has some amazing content from a diverse range of brands and tips for anyone keen to chasing EGI (clamari) from a boat, or land-based.
They've done a ripper job and massive props to everyone involved in producing this.

I was pretty lucky to be given the opportunity be involved and have input on Yamashita Aus's section and am always keen to promote the sport!

Cheers,

Andrew

Thanks Sebb and Kimtown!

I reckon so too, I've never really thought to get this magazine physically and the digitial copy is awesome.
Great way to share content!

They always have an eging special once a year.
One of the only fishing magazine that is still free in printed form.
Andrews, What input did you have on the Australian section mate.
I'd be keen to hear if it's something your allowed to share.
I haven't read the issue yet as I've been very busy with other stuff, so apologies if it's already in there.
Cheers

The new Daiwa LT models have their size updated to suit the other manufacturers now which sucks tbh.
But that also means a 2.5k is the same as all the other brands like shimano etc.
New 3k daiwa = old 2.5k daiwa size.
Thats why the emeraldas LT only came in 3k, but the 2021 model now has a smaller 2.5k size as well.

Yeah, I only started looking into thier digital copies within the past few months, but for a free magazine, great content.
Sure Purple5ive, I was lucky enough to be able to help give feedback to the written content for the Yamashita sections, so seeing the draft text before submission and making recommendations on wording, content, etc. I also supported with feedback on the pictures selected to be sent to the magazine.
I think as someone who had never caught a calamari two years ago, and is all about promoting EGI it's was really nice them reaching out and getting me involved.

That is really interesting, I didn't know that they changed the sizes from 2508 to 3000. I wonder if Daiwa did that in maybe the 2017-18 models, because (and this be wrong, but from what I've heard) the 2017 models were made in Japan, but 2018 models were made in China and people saw them as lesser quality. I could completely wrong, but dunno. I have the 3000DH and never had any issues.

2508 is old pre LT sizing.
When they released the LT model it went to 3k, which is the older 25xx size.

Older 2500, 2506, 2508 and 2510 have now been replaced with 3k LT variants.

And it's great you have had the chance to have input mate, always a great feeling.
Cheers
