Bound to catch Heaps !-------> of fishermen.
He who has the most fishing rods WINS !
Re: New Sephia FlashBoost
It's proven squid jigs attract more fisherman than actual squid, we shoot out with both arms and attack with wads of cash at the sight of new jigs.
In saying that, I picked up Rui's new jig yesterday and it looks promising. For $9 I can't complain

Re: New Sephia FlashBoost
I think you're both 100% right about them catching more fisherman than squid, seeing as most of Shimano's jigs are $19+, you know these will be pricey.
I like both the 3.0 Yamashita SUTTE-R and 3.0 Rui Jigs, both being around that $12 mark with free postage.
Yamashita are getting harder to come by now at that price.
I reckon the rattle would work in attracting them, but I think the colour/silhouette players a bigger factor.

Re: New Sephia FlashBoost
The only thing that really tempted me from Shimano's 2020 gear was the new Vanford reel (set to replace the Stradic?)

I am a big fan of the yamashita jigs with rattles, I was out one day with 2 mates we bagged 30 squid I caught 18 my mates got 12 between them.
I bought one of the jigs 3.o with the tin foil in we were drifting in 1.5 mt of water gin clear water between Port and Clifton Springs sporadic weed beds you could see the squid follow your jig awesome day

Re: New Sephia FlashBoost
Subjective opinion here being sponsored by Yamashita and only ever fishing with their jigs, but I can respect Shimano's idea and innovation of adding a kinetic energy mirror within the squid jig as an alternative to the reflective foils we've seen before.
Whether they're as effective over the life of the squid jig as traditional foils, who can say - but their colourway Keimura 'white' with the flashboost I imagine as being extremely popular as often other brands only every offer 'white' clear bodied jigs, as opposed to the flash boosts almost 'silver foil' equivalence.
That said, I was a little disappointed that they didn't create a natural baitfish smooth cloth version of the flashboost, if you're mimicking those natural scale flashes why not match that baitfish pattern? Missed opportunity.
