Testing Out the Feeling Shaft!!
Ok Firstly get your filthy minds Out of the gutter!! and a Happy new year to All. not Forgetting The rest of our Brethren who are battling flames atm.
The Naory feeling shaft is one Yamshitas Premium Egi Rod which is now also a discontinued model.
i managed to find an New one in a store locally and Put it on layby for a Christmas Gift.
it is the Ultra Light Model so small squid Only with a max jig rated at 2.2 sized jigs
Got a chance yesterday to hit the water and give a test run.
First impressions, very sensitive and very parabolic in action exactly what you need for the small squid..
the rod folds really well when hooked up, and the strikes/takes from the squid are very visible on the rod tip.
i landed around 15 squid in a few hours we had to spend chasing the squid.
the yamashita sutter R spotted brown colour doing most of the damage along with the shimano sephia rainbow a close second.
we also tried for some pinkies later on but only got a few 32cm models.
i also managed a decent sized pinkie on a squid jig, it inhaled the whole jig and by the time i landed it, the jig was sticking out the side of its gills from the inside, thats a shimano 14T in 2.5 for reference, it looked like a red squid jig
ill leave you with a few pics.
Cheers

Ross has one and fishes 3.5’s on it flat out. Just so you know. Don’t need to stick with the light stuff.

It's no megabass destroyer phase 3 deepthroat but this is up there with my favourites.
Nice little session steve. Pinky on a squid jig is pretty cool, I've hooked up to fish on them but never landed one.

Re: Testing Out the Feeling Shaft!!
i didnt know you have one of these, ive never used a megabass so i cant comment about a comparison
yeah the pinkie screamed off with typical snapper headshakes, i knew it was a red, but wasnt sure if i could land it.
ive landed flathead before on a squid jig, but this is a first for me, also landed a banjo on a plastic in the same session

Re: Testing Out the Feeling Shaft!!
Japanese fishing tackle marketing departments must have a fairly low opinion of fishermen if they keep giving their gear names like that.
