I might go there in the afternoon, says 95% chance of rain 5-10mm north wind up to 35kmh. Hopefully not too rough.
Really want to catch salmon though, anyone been catching salmon lately?
tomorrow or today? Cheers Matari
Change of plan, going to port melb today after work and maybe Mornington on Sunday (or gunnamatta beach) depends on weather.

Are you talking about the big salmons or just the bay trout size ones? :)
Any, haven't caught a salmon on lure this winter. Haven't really tried though.

Lol how can you catch if you haven’t really tried Seb?
I got some about a week ago now around the port melb area. Each year I get lots around there but this year didn’t go for them as much. Was more into my squid fishing for a change :)

Are they decent size the ones you got eddy?
Small but most are legal. They've been around the 30cm mark this year, nothing over 35cm so far. Last year they were bigger on average

hi, I was wondering if the garfish were still around Mornington or if they had moved of also would it be worth a try of the small jetty for some whiting?
any tips would be greatly appreciated me and my uncle are going down there on Saturday and are hopping to catch something for my sister bday party.
I can't help with advice there young man (except that I agree, the bread crumb simple burley is the way to go) , , , , but I shall throw you heaps of good luck. Hope you and your Uncle have a great time and catch heaps :a_goodjob:

You picked the right day mate.
It’s looking nice and sunny tomorrow. Sunday doesn’t look anywhere near as good!
Good luck and let us know how you go.
Cheers
