Hastings Boat Ramp

Hi,
I haven't fished WP yet and am keen to try. Thinking of launching a 3.75m tinnie from Hastings and spending the day on that side. I'm looking for safety info about tides and winds if using that ramp and being in that area. Any info or advice is much appreciated. TIA.
