Still not a bad session mate.
That big salmon is a beauty. Would have put up a bit of a fight?
From now on there should be more of those salmons hanging around that st Kilda/port Melbourne area!
Nice pic.
Cheers
He sure pulled some string :) great fun on light gear, would be awesome to see more of them around
Nice mate.
I had a similar size one on last season at lagoon pier. Was pulling some serious line from my reel. I got it all the way to the side of the pier but lost it last minute. They fight was great fun
How did you land it? Did you have a net or a stiff enough rod to lift it up? :)
Just got it tired enough for it to stop shaking its head, then lifted it by the leader

Anyone know if the areas around port melbourne(such as st kilda and kerferd road pier)are fishing well for salmon or flatties? I went for a couple of hours on sunday a bit further down around elwood but no bites

Mostly flathead in shallows during warmer months.
Salmon can be anywhere, they're very mobile. You just gotta try.

I haven’t fished there for awhile but I would usually always get salmon in that area at this time of the year on plastics.
