Port Melbourne Snapper

Hey guys,

Still working through content from the first few days of post iso fishing. Here's a trip to port melbourne chasing snapper on plastics, wa an awesome trip and nice to bump into a few mates who I hadn't seen for a while on the water.

Thanks guys was a great morning on the water, always a challenge to pull the bigger models out but that's part of the fun

Good on you,great spot,unreal October,Im a bit upset when i see people throw 5 kg models back in the water after they reel in something bigger. But really,good work.

That bigger one you got that got you in the thigh, how big do you reckon that one was? Looked like a nice fish mate.

Havent had a chance to check out the video in full yet, ill try to finish it later.

Even though i often launch from Newport i have only tried to fish that spot once with a couple of mates, unfortunately on that trip one of may mates was new to fishing and doesnt know how to cast so it only took a few minutes to realise that he was not going to have much fun in that spot so we took off down to Willy and bagged out on squid (IIRC) which he loved and he got in some casting practice too.

I really want to try it again.. does it hold pinkies all year round normally?

Went there a few weeks ago with a few mates, there are still fish there, most were just size and under but my mate got a decent model. Lucky he had 20lb leader as it was in the middle of it all and tried to brick him on a few pylons

Do do know or have you noticed Station pier being open to the public,as this time of the year Salmon fishing does ok.
