Yet another successful outing today, been fishing pretty hard around the city lately and getting consistent results

Fished large soft plastics in the yarra around richmond early this morning and managed a nice snapper of 54cm. Fought very hard for its size too, thought it was a decent jewie. Hook popped out right at the bank so I took a bit of a dunk landing him :P luckly he was tired and didn't immediately swim off.

Didn't think i'd find many decent snapper that far up the river, hopefully i'll come across a few more to keep me entertained on the ongoing quest for a big jewie :)

I also hit up docklands later on, managed a couple of average bream, but they shut down quite quickly.

Great work! Where there is bait, there is snapper. In Melbourne they are found more or less in the same areas as mulloway, and tend to succumb to the same tactics. My brother and I have caught some large one over the years from the year - the best going 84cm and 7.4 kg and 81cm and 7.6kg. Most years the bigger ones will be in the 48-55cm range, though. My best this year so far is 49cm and 1.5kg.
